Melissa Metcalfe started Smarty Paws with a simple idea: Bringing pups and their people closer together.

As a certified professional dog trainer, Melissa uses evidence based, positive reinforcement methods that create strong bonds and happy dogs. 

She views training as an ongoing process that allows owners and their pets to experience the world together with confidence.

Melissa applies the same approach to her own training. She is currently studying to become a Canine Behaviour Consultant, is pursuing CPDT-KA certification and is Dogsafe First Aid & CPR certified.
